A day trip to your destination

For the slow traveller who enjoys exploring far beyond the usual tourist traps, consider booking a one-way tour to get to your next destination. You will avoid all the the inconveniences of air travel, get your own local guide for the day and learn about the history and culture of the lesser explored towns along the way. It’s honestly one of the best ways to turn a wasted day of travel into a memorable highlight of your adventure!

One-way tours can be booked as part of a small group tour (~12 people) or private tour (1-2 people). The cost is usually per vehicle, not person, so this is quite economical for families or groups of friends. And itineraries can be flexible, you just need to ask 😊

Below are some tour highlights from our journey through the Baltics with Traveller Tours.

Tallinn to Riga (Private one-way tour)

Viljandi – exploring the Castle ruins

Valga – lunch at Lilli Restoran

Vaidava – winter wonderland!

Cēsis – Old Town

Riga to Vilnius (Small group one-way tour)

Salaspils Memorial

Rundāle Palace

Joniškis

Šiauliai – Hill of Crosses

Kaunas

We used day trips to get from Tallinn to Riga, Riga to Vilnius and to venture out to parts of Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece and Romania. Keen to be a slow traveller and take a day trip to your next destination? Want to know more about our travels? Post a comment below 😊

This style of tour also allows you to get away from the central tourist sites, and see some of the more remote, less visited attractions that would blow an entire day if you were to travel out to see them, then head back again.

Also, if you like to stay in the centre / old town, the pick up spot and drop off spots are usually within walking distance from your hotel!

    Very highly recommended!
